THE ROLE—

The Senior Designer is an instrumental member of the Public Office team. They provide a high level of expertise, inspiration and insight-driven design sensibilities to lead projects across a variety of clients and media, leading design initiatives from initial briefing through to final delivery. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, can seamlessly shift between different brand voices and visual styles, and brings both creative excellence and strong client relationship skills.

The Senior Designer is primarily a graphic design expert, but is also fluent in art direction, illustration, digital design, brand strategy and production, enabling them to work collaboratively with their peers and multi-disciplinary freelance partners to create and execute holistic creative solution for our clients.

WHAT YOU WILL BE
DOING—

  • Lead creative development of a broad spectrum of brand design and marketing campaign projects including but not limited to brand visual identities and design systems, promotional campaigns across social media, print, out-of-home, email, mobile, web, physical activations, video and publications

  • Research and draw from a variety of design philosophies, trends and influences to inform a sophisticated creative approach

  • Lead and guide junior design team in projects from concept to delivery

  • Develop compelling visual solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients across B2B and B2C environments, translating their business objectives into impactful design solutions

  • Manage multiple client projects simultaneously with varying timelines and priorities, working well under pressure to meet tight deadlines

  • Present concepts directly to clients and stakeholders with confidence and clarity

  • Collaborate with team members and freelance partners across account management, strategy, copywriting, digital design, animation, photography, styling and production

WHAT YOU’VE DONE—

  • 5-10 years of relevant professional experience as a Senior Designer or Design Director in a creative agency or internal creative department

  • Built an impressive portfolio of signature design projects spanning brand concepts, identities, design systems and successful campaigns across multiple mediums

  • Created strong and lasting relationships with talented peers in the field who can lean in to support larger projects or specific needs

  • Proficient in design software (e.g. Figma, InDesign) and learning how to leverage AI to raise your game

  • BSc degree in Design, Visual Arts or relevant field

THE DETAILS—

  • Full-time permanent hybrid role based at our studio in Toronto’s west end, with 3 days/week minimum in-person at our dog-friendly, open concept, sunny transit-accessible studio
